Incorporated on June 11, 1953, Indian River Shores continues to be identified with its pristine beaches and controlled growth. We are a low density residential community adjacent to Vero Beach, Florida situated between the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. March through October of each year we are witness to hundreds of sea turtles nesting on our beaches, with thousands of hatchlings returning to the sea. In a recent year more than 1500 loggerheads, leatherbacks and green turtles made their nest along our beach shoreline.
